The United Brother of Carpenters is one of the North America’s largest building trades unions, with over a half-million members of women and men. With our 140-year history we lead the way in training, educating and representing the next generation of skilled construction professionals. North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters Local 277 is located at 6920 Princeton Ct, Syracuse N.Y. Our Apprenticeship Program is registered and recognized by New York State and provides a career path to become a Professional Carpenter that is tuition free, with an annual starting salary of $57,000.00 at age 17 starting June 1, 2023. Salary varies from county to county. As you complete 1000 hours of on-the-job training and four (4) Instructional classes per year, you will be upgraded to the next level of our 5-level program. Graduates receive a certificate from NYS and will be compensated at an annual salary of over $100,000.00 annually. Benefits include free continuing education, life insurance, health insurance, pension and annuity. Continuing education is available that provides a two-year applied science degree at no cost.

Carpenters build. We build all commercial and residential projects. We are wood workers, residential framers, welders, underwater divers, sheet pile drivers, pile drivers, concrete builders, interior system carpenters, machinist and millwrights, cabinetry & millworkers, solar erectors, surveyors, foremen, superintendents, project managers and business owners. We provide pathways to work directly for our organization as council employees or training instructors.
